Building The Life I Want with DNRS

I haven't written in a while because I've been working hard behind the scenes. Building my way back to a better life, and the results have exceeded my most optimistic hopes and expectations!

A year ago I took a brave step venturing forth on my first trip out of Arizona in nearly seven years. Since then I have continued to challenge myself with new trips, and after each journey a positive shift follows - gently nudging me closer to the life I want: a life full of joy, gratitude and good health.

I've been using a program called The Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS) daily for almost three years. DNRS is a science-based program using self-directed neuroplasticity to heal the limbic portion of the brain, or the limbic system, including the hypothalamus, the amygdala, the thalamus, and the hippocampus,

The limbic system can become impaired by any combination of viruses, bacteria, bio-toxins (like mold), environmental toxins (like chemicals), and/or trauma (mental, emotional or physical).

When an injury occurs in the limbic system, the amygdala begins filtering incoming stimuli incorrectly. This contributes to a maladaptive stress response, and a slew of unpleasant conditions.

My story is not unique, many people have struggled for decades from limbic injury. Thankfully more and more people are using this cutting edge science to recover and thrive.

Thanks to DNRS, I'm building lasting momentum leading to what the program refers to as "defining moments:"

  • Seeing the ocean and feeling the sand between my toes!

  • Visiting my sister in Texas and meeting my newborn niece and brother-in-law for the first time!

  • Spending time in South Carolina with my family and enjoying delicious meals together!

  • Building a home!

  • Reconnecting with long-distance friends!

  • Having family visit from PA, and visiting family in PA!

  • Taking a road trip in a rented camper van, hiking along the way, and enduring the elements!

Not only have I taken multiple trips in the past year, but my quality of life continues to improve significantly:

  • My diet has expanded from a few foods to nearly no limitations.

  • My relationships have become more rich and real.

  • I tolerate exposures to fragrances, propane, motion, mold, smoke, the cold and increasingly light, sound and stimulation.

  • I've significantly cut back on medications, treatments and over-the-counter painkillers.

  • I'm becoming more adventurous, more social, and more carefree while taking on new challenges like learning piano, running, traveling and volunteering!

In short, I am building the life I want by normalizing perceived threats, calming my limbic system, practicing gratitude, and visualizing the life I want.

I still have a lot of work to do to reach my goals, but I am SO thrilled that I wanted to share with those whom might benefit.
